New nursery in Leeds brings more jobs

Twinkles Nursery, based in Wetherby, has opened a new nursery site with funding from Lloyds TSB. The new Nursery is in Leeds city centre, and will provide pre-school education for 67 children requiring 25 staff. The company, managing director Jill Johnson, employs 85 people in Yorkshire.

New restaurant in Ilkley means 25 new jobs

Aagrah Restaurant Group, the UKs largest Kasmiri Restaurant chain, has opened its 15th branch in Ilkley, Yorks, creating 25 jobs. The company is headed by executive head chef and managing director Mohamed Aslam MBE.

New Deloitte’s business centre brings 177 new Belfast

Deloitte, a global business services company, are opening a new technology hub for business services in Belfast, creating 177 new jobs with £1.2m in funding from Invest N.I. The company employs 200 people in Belfast and has a UK turnover of £1.1m.

Private Equity / Bank Funding: Finance package for new manufacturing facility in Vietnam

Dewsbury-based Magma Ceramics and Catalysts have secured a £600K finance package from HSBC to support the development of a new manufacturing facility in Vietnam.  The company has grown from a turnover of £1.6m in its first year of operation to £6m in 2012 and is on course to generate sales of £10m in 2013. The company believes the Vietnam facility will be contributing up to £5m to turnover within two years of operation.

Ecclesiastical has appointed Mark Hews as Group Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Euro Garages deal with Subway means 700 new jobs

Euro Garages, service station operators based in Blackburn, have secured a deal with Subway to open 69 new sites and create 700 jobs. The company already owns 30 Subway stores and acquired 45 forecourt sites from Esso in 2013. Turnover £313m.

Management Moves: Buyout by Bucks IT Firm

Globalwave Communications Limited, a Loughborough-based internet network provider, has been purchased by TFM Networks, based in Buckinghamshire, with funding from Yorkshire Bank. Globalwave's technical director Matt King will join TFM Group's board.

Management Moves: New board members at Harvey Nash

Harvey Nash, a London-based recruitment and outsourcing company, have reported revenues rising 12% to £594m and profits up 2% at 8.7m. The growth comes after expansion in Asia and new female board members. The company, chief executive Albert Ellis, have 246 UK employees.

Venture Capital: Management Buyout of Nottingham-headquartered Red Box Recorders

ISIS Equity Partners has completed a £14m investment to fund the management buyout of Nottingham-headquartered Red Box Recorders.

119 new jobs at Liverpool-based Redx Pharma

Liverpool-based drugs discovery and development company Redx Pharma is creating more than 120 jobs with the launch of a new £10.5 million research and development facility in Cheshire.  The new venture, Redx Anti-Infectives, which received a £4.7 million grant from the Government's Regional Growth Fund, will create 119 posts. A further 28 specialist roles will also be created within the wider supply chain.

Private Equity / Bank Funding: Funding for Manchester-based demolition and remediation specialist KDC

Manchester-based demolition and remediation specialist KDC has completed a £3.8m refinancing with the Yorkshire Bank.  The cash will be used to fund further growth and has also given an exit to YFM Equity Partners.  It backed a management buyout in 2008 along with Barclays Ventures, which still holds a stake.   Turnover has grown from £14m to £24m and there are now 140 staff.

Neil Hudgell Solicitors has appointed former Hull NHS chief Kath Lavery as its first chairman. It is also seeking to become an alternative business structure.

Bosch contact centre to expand to 200 staff by 2014

The Bosch Communication Centre in Liverpool operated by German group Bosch could expand threefold after going 24/7 this week. The Bosch Communication Centre network has 25 global sites, including Liverpool, providing contact centre services for its parent and a range of clients around the world. The operation will grow to 200 employees by the end of the year, with the option to treble in size.

Private Equity / Bank Funding: New Manchester College funding secured  

The Brighton Institute of Modern Music has secured £12m from Barclays to fund a new music college in Manchester, and will relocate their London school to a new purpose-built site. BIMM will accept 3,000 students across the UK and Ireland from September 2013.
