£75m investment in parcels business creates 1000 new jobs

Royal Mail is to expand its Parcelforce Worldwide depot network as part of a four-year, 75m investment programme.  The expansion will see a new parcel processing centre open in Chorley in Lancashire in autumn 2013, new depots in Cornwall and Hampshire, and the expansion or relocation of nine further depots over the next four years.  One thousand new jobs will be created as a direct result.
