Tidal
Lagoon (Swansea Bay) expects to secure consent for a £550m tidal energy scheme
in Swansea Bay by 2015. The scheme would
create 250 jobs in the construction phase which could be completed by
2017. The tidal lagoon would have a
lifetime of 100 years and create a 250 megawatt tidal power plant.
