Rail is investing £13m in a pilot scheme to link Parkgate retail park in Rotherham
to Sheffield city centre. The tram-train scheme has attracted £58m in
Government support. The pilot will run
for two years from 2015 with construction work due to begin in spring 2014
following a contract award. New jobs are expected.
