GMI Construction has been appointed as contractors on the £20m revamp of a city centre building. Newcastle-based Associated Property Investors is turning the former Woolworths building in Manchester's Piccadilly into a 157-room Travelodge hotel with retail units on the ground floor. The businesses are expected to create 100 jobs.
