Verder secures funding for new premises creating potential new jobs

Pump manufacturer Verder has relocated from Leeds to new premises in Castleford, West Yorkshire, after securing funding from Barclays. The new premises provide space for new lines, additional equipment and for additional product testing, potentially creating employment opportunities.   £12m UK turnover, 60 employees.

Stockport retail development signals potential new jobs

How Planning has secured planning approval for a retail-led development in Stockport, on behalf of Kirkland Developments.  The two-acre site will house a 42,000 sq. ft. food store and a second 4,725 sq. ft. unit.  A Royal Mail sorting office currently on the site is to relocate to an alternative location. The development could create jobs.

New St Anne’s care home development brings 50 new jobs

Lakeview Rest Homes has secured new funding from Barclays to support its development of a 78-bed facility in St Anne’s, Lancashire. The new home will enhance the Lakeview residential care offering and enable to company to expand into nursing care. 50 jobs will be created.  Turnover £2.25m, 80 employees.

Acquisition of Stockport warehouse means potential new jobs

Stocktons, the designer furniture retailer, has purchased a 32,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office in Stockport, Manchester, from a private investor.  Stocktons will use the property as a storage and distribution centre. The expansion could create employment opportunities.

Auto Styling Truckman factory investment could mean new jobs in Brierley Hill

Auto Styling Truckman is investing £250,000 in a new manufacturing facility at Hurst Business Park in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, where it will manufacture Truckman branded pick-up hardtops, potentially creating new jobs. The £6m turnover company expects to continue its 15% to 20% annual growth and increase European sales.  31 employees.

Skerries tidal farm approval brings new jobs to Wales

Marine Current Turbines, part of Siemens, is to develop the Skerries Tidal Stream Array, Wales first commercial tidal energy farm.  The development has been approved by the Welsh Government. It will supply green energy to up to 10,000 homes and create jobs in operations and maintenance, and environmental monitoring.

Oxford hotel refurbishment means potential new jobs

Oakman Inns has acquired the Crown and Thistle hotel in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, and is investing £1.4m to restore the 17th Century coaching inn. Plans include renovating a currently unused barn to create a function room. Jobs could be created as a result of the investment.
