The energy grid operator National Grid has
awarded four, eight-year contracts, worth £3.1bn in total, to upgrade it gas
distribution systems in the North West, Midlands, East and London. Contracts have been awarded to Balfour
Beatty, Morrison Utility Services and Swedish engineering company Skanska.
