Barkers, a Northallerton department store,
has invested £600,000 to double the size of its cafe, creating 22 jobs. The
cafe has expanded from 60 to 110 tables, with an upstairs bistro, employing 67
staff. A bridge has been built to connect the cafe with the 40,000 sq ft.
